Washington's Wonderful Little Walks and Rolls
(Anacostia River Marinas)
M Street, SE at 11th Street,
east on M Street until it
dead ends at the Anacostia
Marina, return and go left
at Water Street and proceed
along 12th Street back to
M Street

This walk, as described
above, is about 2 miles.
This isn't a beautiful walk
but it is an interesting one.

This is an area of the city
that few people ever see
and it may be especially
interesting to boat lovers.

Along with the boats, there
is a definite industrial
feel to the area and as
you approach the Anacostia
Marina at the end of M Street,
you will be walking alongside
railroad tracks.

You're on the west side of
the Anacostia River.
There are no sidewalks but there is almost no traffic on this road. The road surface gets bumpy as you get closer to the Anacostia Marina.

There are two reasonably steep hills to navigate.

Park anywhere you want to along the walking route. Parking seems to be informal.
